Join us on one of our runs!
Twice a month at we meet at various locations around the Montreal area for group runs, usually starting in the morning at 7:30 am. The first Sunday of the month we meet in the Hampstead/Cote Saint Luc area, and the third Sunday we meet downtown or near Mont Royal. Check out the updated calendar below, or our Facebook page for exact location and updates. Before each run there is an optional group study, where we look at brief texts, poems or readings and explore their connection with health, spirituality, peace and contemporary issues. As we get ready to run, a volunteer leads us in a meditation or prayer, and we head off, splitting up as necessary to run with people of a similar pace. Some weeks we will have a theme for the study and the run, and others we will simply enjoy being together.
While many of us run competitively or are training for races, these runs are primarily for spiritual exploration and learning from each other. There are pace groups, but speed is not always the goal. Beginners and people of all skill levels are welcome-walkers too!
We respect the diversity of religious practice and belief, and all our activities are based on the core values of respect, dialogue and learning. Participants agree to speak, listen and run with an open heart. Remember, we are all on this journey together!
As the group grows, we hope that participants will become friends, and not only run and walk together, but get to know each other outside of our scheduled runs. We also hope to plan regular social gatherings, meals, and other opportunities for learning.
